Watching World War III from the inside.

If the text were written in 2673 and explained the present, it would likely mention the Third World War we are currently in. From COVID until now, every year we are watching bombs on drones, facing critical component shortages, and waking up to new crises. No matter how we look at it, we cannot deny that World War III is already happening.

The text doesn’t mention the future; it’s just a reflection after a compressed week. It started smoothly because I planned it without rushing through any part of the process. I reached the airport with enough time by taking the direct subway; however, several times I still felt like I was late. I think I got trauma from past flying experiences. On the way back, some passengers became stressed again due to the Israel-Iran-US conflicts and flight cancellations along the air route where their transfer flight would pass. Perhaps that was why the seat next to me was empty. Hearing an official announcement of war at the airport did not provoke stress. Perhaps I have lost some emotional sensitivity, or we have simply grown accustomed to this state of affairs. Life continues regardless: emails arrive, orders come in, and replies are sent.

Now, could you dive into the reason for my flights? This isn’t a frequent occurrence, maybe for the first time for some like me. The IKEA Foundation updated the strategy with a simplified, sharpened version, and some ambassadors voluntarily met to get it and deliver it. The meeting itself remained complex due to the diversity of perspectives in the room. This is not bad or negative; it just shows the many and proves how caring it is between us. Agenda prepared warmly yet professionally. Meaning that you are not feeling the stress, but the topics are intense. Common understanding is a system change request. Giving fish is not leveraging the world’s resources to build better futures; Empowering people to grow and fish sustainably will. I felt a sense of pride when the consensus somehow aligned with my thoughts.

In the first three days, our schedule was packed with several presentations, agile trainings & hands-on creation. Teams are organized to prepare a full package. Our task was to make a video for The Selcofoundation and it fits. Every video has its own creativity, which makes them diverse. Many of us, not professionals in front of the cameras, raised our voices in sincerity. Over time, the process was enriched by open-hearted communication. Some happened at the hotel breakfast, some happened during FIKA. I love these moments because it’s only then that I can truly feel and convey the reality. It’s as if you are living a real dream of the words right in front of you. The details remain a secret, meant only for that moment, but the warmth lasts.

On the final day, the program was more intellectual, but I was interrupted by my daily work. When I’m very close to my colleagues, I have to spend some time with them. As a bonus, I met a lovely song performed from collegues After lunch, I moved to the final group event, which was to empower our roots and set our vision for togetherness. The photo below was taken at Boslo.

The naturalistic approach works because we are part of it, and we would like to live in balance. I’m connecting it with my thoughts. It is not a consideration of any repeat.

The final day is just for smooth preparation for the way back home, which started the day before in the afternoon. I spent all the long transfers to the airport as early as I could and reached the final meeting. It was where it all began. We squeezed 10 years into an hour. Magnificent. Another magnificent discovery was the book. The funny thing is, my attitude on the train. I’m standing and eagerly reading pages to reach the next chapter. When the train reaches Malmö, I will give the book to the recipient; therefore, I have to arrive at the appropriate page.

Airport transportation was smooth in the end, but immediately upon my arrival, news of the war broke out again on social media. Life continues, and I believe the greatest loss is experiencing it only through screens.

Bye for now, and take care of the integrity of the whole.
